The activities of the Danske Bank Group affect the environment in various ways.
In 2008, the Group focused on implementing an environmental management system in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Ireland and Northern Ireland. In 2009 we worked on reducing the Group's direct environmental impact, and in 2010 we implemented the Group's environmental management system in our operations in Finland.
Meeting the climate change challenge
As part of our work to reduce the Group's direct environmental impact in the years ahead, we will concentrate on climate change. We thus updated our climate strategy at the end of 2008 to highlight the opportunities for confronting the climate challenge in our financial business and operations. The revised strategy explains the concrete measures we are pursuing to reach our climate goals.
The Group have reached a 17% reduction of its CO2 emissions from the base line year 2008 to 2010. In the years ahead, we will set new targets and work to reduce our emissions further.
In this section, you can read about our environmental objectives, our consumption data, and our work to reach carbon neutrality by the end of 2009 and again in 2010.
