Danske Bank issues bonds and other debt instruments on the international financial markets, and they are among the highest-rated in the Nordic region.
Danske Bank has issued both tier 1 and tier capital, senior debt and covered bonds and has been an active player in the financial markets for many years.
State guarantee
As a response to the financial crisis, the Danish state introduced two banking packages, one in 2008 and one in 2009. The first, the Stability Package, provided a guarantee for issued bonds, among other things, and ran from October 2008 to September 2010.
In the second package, the Credit Package of February 2009, it became possible for banks to extend the state guarantee on unsecured loans until 31 December 2013, against payment. Danske Bank issued bonds with this explicit state guarantee in June and July 2009.
