The Danske Bank Group wants to communicate a fair view of its results and activities to customers, shareholders, investors, employees, media, political decision makers and the public.
The Group’s objective is to create transparency and openness for all stakeholders with due consideration to the regulatory framework and the competitive situation. At the same time, we want to communicate complex issues in a way that is easy to understand.
Internal communications
The Group’s internal communications must support business activities and strengthen employee motivation and commitment. All employees must be well informed about the Group’s goals and the activities launched to reach those goals. Employees get this information through several channels, from their immediate superior and via internal communications systems that publish Group articles, video interviews and local articles. Managers and employees must be aware of their responsibility to communicate. Appropriate tools and communications material support them in this process.
External communications
We strive to keep the Group’s stakeholders informed of the Group’s activities and to ensure understanding and acceptance of the Group’s behaviour. We do so through extensive accessibility and targeted communications in advertisements and a range of own media, including printed publications, letters to customers and the Group’s websites, including
www.danskebank.com.
The Group wants a constructive dialogue with the media where we contribute by providing quotes, press releases and a proactive journalistic approach. We also actively contact the media when we observe a need for correction and elaboration.
The Group has appointed a corps of spokespersons for the ongoing dialogue with the media. They have all been specially trained to handle media contact. For example, the spokespersons ensure fast reaction to media enquiries.
Our economists’ and analysts’ assessment of macroeconomic trends and market comments must be relevant to society – and the same applies to the advice we provide to customers, directly or through the media.
Corporate language
The Group has two corporate languages: Danish and English. English is used for cross-border communications and in forums with participants representing more than one native language. For everyday communications, employees use the local language of their unit.
This is a translation of an original document in the Danish language. In case of discrepancies, the Danish text prevails.
