Our responsible sourcing programme is anchored in two organisational bodies in the Group: the Responsible Sourcing Working Group and the Responsible Sourcing Board.
Duties of the Responsible Sourcing Working Group
- Systematic review of information from selected suppliers
- Risk assessment of suppliers
- Submission of questionnaires to possibly high-risk suppliers
- Assessment of the completed questionnaires
- Informing the Responsible Sourcing Board about general trends in the supplier portfolio
- Recommendation of suppliers for physical audit or exclusion
Duties of the Responsible Sourcing Board
- Decisions on the information acquired by the Working Group
- Decisions on the physical audit or exclusion of specific suppliers
Network
At the Danske Bank Group, we try to promote social and environmental responsibility across our business activities – in order to manage our own risk efficiently and also because we believe it is the right thing to do. These efforts also help us to live up to the ten principles of the UN Global Compact, a comprehensive initiative for working on businesses’ social responsibility. Read more about Global compact.
We participate actively in various networks and initiatives that seek solutions to global challenges.
Danish Ethical Trading Initiative
Through our membership in the Danish Ethical Trading Initiative (DIEH), we share information with other Danish organisations. In collaboration, we can find solutions to the challenges that Danish businesses face regarding responsible production, purchasing and supplier management – particularly in developing countries and the emerging markets.
Dialogue with all stakeholders
DIEH gathers businesses, citizens’ organisations, trade associations and trade unions in a shared effort. It thus offers us a dialogue with all relevant stakeholders regarding responsible sourcing.
Advantages of membership in DIEH
- Opportunities to develop internal competencies in responsible sourcing
- Opportunities to develop the competencies of our suppliers
- Overview of the local resources that help improve local conditions
- Tools that give an overview of responsible conduct ility at the Group’s suppliers.
