The Danske Bank Group achieved carbon neutrality again in 2011. We reduced emissions from our own operations by 6%, and we invested in carbon credit projects that reduce emissions by using renewable energy instead.
Carbon neutrality is part of our climate strategy. The Group does not have high CO2 emissions in comparison with manufacturing companies, for example. Even so, with more than 21,000 employees, we do have an impact on the climate. In 2011, the Group's total CO2 emissions amounted to 53,000 tonnes.
The chart below shows how the Group has achieved carbon neutrality, and under the tabs on the right you will find our greenhouse gas accounts and carbon neutrality statement for each year that the Group achieved neutrality.
