Advisory service for studentsAdvisory service for students

In conjunction with the Parent Study Loan, the Group has launched a special advisory service aimed at giving students with children a better understanding of their financial circumstances.

Capacent Epinion, on the behalf of the Danske Bank Group, conducted a survey of how students with and without children manage their finances. Like other Danish and international studies, our survey documented extensive financial illiteracy among young people. For example, more than one quarter of students with children did not know how much they were paying in interest on their loans. Our intention is to give these students advice on their current budgets and day-to-day finances.

The study also showed that four out of ten students with children felt that their banks were not committed to helping them with their finances. In other to remedy this situation, Danske Bank’s advisers will undergo a special internal training programme so that they obtain a better understanding of the financial situation of students with children. The objective of the service is that our advisers will be able to offer better advice on the basis of an in-depth knowledge of the customer group.
