The Danske Bank Group considers training and ongoing development of personal and professional competencies vital if we are to meet the business challenges presented by our customers, both now and in future.

To that end, Danske Bank works in close cooperation with relevant educational institutions in Denmark and abroad, and our competency assessment tools enable all employees to identify their training and educational needs. Whether the need is for advanced, specialist or management training, we will ensure, together with our employees, that their competencies always match the Group's requirements and expectations.
Competency profiles
We are compiling competency profiles for all Group employees that will lay the foundation for their future career development. The competency profile lists the specific professional and personal competencies that an employee must have to meet the requirements of his or her job. It enables us to evaluate the employee’s current skills for the purpose of offering targeted competency development – a key element in the Group’s policy on learning.
Some 61% of employees in Denmark and Norway now have an approved competency profile. With employees in Sampo Bank and the Baltic states joining the HR platform in 2008, the Group is well on the way to reaching our goal of having a profile for all employees.
We expect to reach this goal in 2009.
