Our working life is of great significance in cultivating a healthy lifestyle. Healthy employees are absent less often because of illness and are more productive. The Danske Bank Group's efforts to promote employee health should therefore be seen as an effort to help solve a shared challenge and also to ensure a healthy business.

A thorough effort
For us, health promotion is a holistic effort to create a good physical and mental working environment. Since 2009, a health management working group has planned activities that treat health in a broad context, evaluated existing projects and researched opportunities for increasing employees' knowledge about health in the workplace.
The specific measures are based on Danica Health Promoter (in Danish, Danica Sundhedsfremmer), a programme for businesses that was launched in 2008 by Danica Pension, our life and pensions company. In 2009, Danica Health Promoter was tested internally at Danica, with a health check-up and other activities. In 2010, Danica followed up on this effort by conducting a survey of the participants in the 2009 check-up. O the basis of the results, it offered an additional health initiative to those with the poorest health conditions called "The Helthy Choise". The follow-up programme will be evaluated in 2011.
Local initiatives lead the way
We already have many health-promoting initiatives at the individual units. They include exercise programmes and opportunities, health check-ups, healthy canteen food and intranet campaigns.
