The Danske Bank Group wants its staff composition to reflect the wider community. We have therefore launched a number of initiatives to support staff diversity.
Like many other companies, the Group has an underrepresentation of female managers and executives. To improve this ratio, in 2006 the Group introduced a development programme for potential female managers and executives. The programme was completed for the first time in Denmark in 2007 with 19 participants. Over time, the intention is to offer employees in other countries the possibility of joining the programme. The target is for 75% of the programme participants to take up their first managerial or executive position within two years of starting the programme. The Group also aims to increase the number of female managers and executives through new recruitment.
As shown in the table below, the trend points in the right direction. The percentage of female managers and executives rose from 28% in 2006 to 31% in 2007.

This positive trend is attributable to the high proportion of female managers and executives at the Danske Bank Group’s newest units – Sampo Bank in Finland and the Baltic states. The chart below shows the gender breakdown by country for managers and executives in 2007.
