EnvironmentEnvironment

The activities of the Danske Bank Group affect the environment in various ways.

In 2008, the Group focused on improving environmental management in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Ireland and Northern Ireland. In 2009, we are working to reduce the Group's direct environmental impact further and beginning to implement the Group's environmental management system in our operations in Finland.

Meeting the climate change challenge
As part of our work to reduce the Group's direct environmental impact in the years ahead, we will concentrate on climate change. We thus updated our climate strategy at the end of 2008 to highlight the opportunities for confronting the climate challenge in our financial business and operations. The revised strategy explains the concrete measures we are pursuing to reach our climate goals.

In this section, you can read about our environmental objectives, our consumption data, and our work to reach carbon neutrality by the end of 2009.
