Indirect effectsIndirect effects

The Danske Bank Group's credit and investment decisions may indirectly affect the environment because the activities that we help finance may affect it. We also affect the environment with our range of products with an environmental profile.

We have not formulated stricter requirements than those laid down by legislation in the Nordic region, our principal market.

In our credit and investment decisions, we apply environmental criteria to identify and manage environmental risks. We also assess whether borrowers and companies we invest in operate in areas in which environmental issues may affect their performance.

Responsible investment opportunities
The Group seeks to provide customers with responsible investment opportunities that are also profitable. For example, in 2007 we introduced a range of investment products focusing on environmental and energy issues. We sold a total of DKr1,239.5 million worth of these products in 2007.
