Mapping CO2 emissionsMapping CO2 emissions

CO2 emissions are categorised as follows:

  • Direct GHG emissions
  • Indirect GHG emissions
  • Other indirect GHG emissions

The categories follows the ISO 14064-1 standard.

Below you can see an overview of the Group's current CO2 emissions. A further breakdown of the emissions is available in our CR Fact Book 2008 (PDF 452 KB)

In order to identify the CO2 emissions to be included in the calculation of the Group's total GHG emissions, we evaluate the various possible sources of emissions. These are parameters of the evaluation:

  • Volume or impact of the emissions (high/medium/low): A high impact or large volume means that the emissions have great significance in the Group's total emissions.
  • Influence (high/medium/low): The more Danske Bank Group can influence the scope of the emissions, the greater significance they have in Group's total emissions.
  • Measurability (high/medium/low): For the Group to be able to use emissions data consistently, the data must be measurable. If the measurability is low, the Group cannot include the data in the GHG calculation.

The work of measuring and reducing GHG emissions is integrated in the Danske Bank Group’s environmental management system, which adheres to the ISO 14001 standard.

Internal projects

The Group intends to achieve CO2 neutrality mainly by reducing its own energy consumption through various projects.
