Danske Bank’s Head of Group Procurement, Jens Sørensen:
"It is not Danske Bank’s philosophy to exclude suppliers or discontinue business relationships with suppliers that do not fully meet all of the Group’s environmental standards. Instead, we engage in a dialogue with our suppliers to help them meet our guidelines. We do so because we firmly believe that if we influence our suppliers to improve their environmental performance rather than excluding them, the positive impact on the environment is much greater.
"In August 2006, we introduced a number of environmental standards to be met by suppliers and selected products. In general, the suppliers’ response to these standards was positive. In the past year, we have had a good and constructive dialogue with our suppliers on how to meet the environmental standards in practice."
Lars Pedersen, Sales Manager, MultiLine A/S, a supplier of cleaning products to Danske Bank:
"In 2006, we entered into a partnership with Danske Bank on the Group’s supplier standards. As a result of our partnership with Danske Bank, we are now in the process of developing a new Swan-labelled product range of environmentally friendly cleaning products. These products will enable us to continue meeting the increasing demand for eco-friendly products from a number of customers."
Danske Bank will switch to the new product range as the products are approved and ready for launch.
