In September 2009, the Danske Bank Group was designated one of the best companies in Denmark for green purchasing. It was named to the "Green Team” for the year along with four other companies. The "GreenBiz" award was given for the Group’s work with green sourcing and environmental supplier screening, among other things.
The award is given by the Purchasing Panel, which was appointed by the Danish Ministry of the Environment to advance environmentally sound purchasing of products and services in the public and private sectors. The Panel consists of 14 organisations that, in addition to representatives of purchasing organisations, include members who work in purchasing in private companies and the public sector.
