GRI indexGRI index

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is a multi-stakeholder organisation that provides a globally applicable framework for sustainability reporting. The framework sets out principles and indicators to measure and report on economic, environmental, and social performance.

The Danske Bank Group’s CR reporting is prepared in accordance with the G3 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines and currently applies to GRI level B. It represents a balanced and reasonable presentation of our organisation’s economic, environmental, and social performance.

GRI self-declared level BThe G3 Guidelines require that the Group report in accordance with GRI on our strategy and profile and our management approach, that we make a GRI index available, and that we cover all of the G3 key indicators either by reporting on the indicator or by explaining why we do not report on it. For 2009 we have also completed the Financial Services Sector Supplement. The supplement includes 16 additional indicators addressing needs that are unique to financial businesses.

The GRI index refers to the Group’s CR reporting in the Corporate Responsibility report, on the Web site or in our CR Fact Book, which is also available on the Web site.

GRI and Global Compact
GRI and the UN Global Compact are voluntary programmes that play complementary roles in promoting organisational accountability and improved performance. The G3 Guidelines provide a tool for measuring our progress and communicating our performance in the context of the Global Compact principles. The GRI index therefore contains cross-references to the relevant principles of the Global Compact.
