Through their activities, financial enterprises receive various personal data on their customers and staff. It is important that both customers and staff members are certain that registrations of personal data are not more extensive than necessary and that the data are treated as confidential.
In Denmark, the registration of personal data is regulated by the Data Protection Act of 2000. The Act regulates the treatment of collected data, the rights of persons registered, notification and supervision.
The Group's business procedures
The Danske Bank Group has implemented business procedures to ensure that the Act is complied with and designs its new IT systems to meet the statutory requirements. For example, the Group's systems automatically delete various data after a period of time.
