Proxy voting in DenmarkProxy voting in Denmark

Danske Bank’s Proxy voting service is an optional service for international custody clients who want to exercise their rights to vote in companies listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.

According to Danish law, a shareholder must attend a general meeting in person in order to exercise voting rights. If personal attendance is not possible, the shareholder may appoint a representative to attend the meeting and vote by proxy. The voting is thus carried out either through a power of attorney granted to the Chairman of the Board of the company and signed by Danske Bank or, if the company does not accept voting by proxy, at the general meeting by a representative selected by us.

A general power of attorney valid for all companies must be deposited with Danske Bank. The power of attorney is valid for one year only.

Voting holdings must be kept in segregated accounts to allow for registration in the beneficial owner’s name.
