Proxy voting in SwedenProxy voting in Sweden

Danske Bank’s Proxy Voting Service is an optional service for custody clients who want to exercise their rights to vote in companies listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.

According to Swedish law, a shareholder’s rights at a general meeting (GM) may be exercised either in person or by power of attorney. A general power of attorney valid for all companies covered by our Proxy Voting Service must be deposited with the Bank.

To be able to attend a GM and vote, a shareholder must be listed in the company’s register of shareholders maintained by the Swedish Securities Centre (VPC AB) at least 10 calendar days prior to the GM.

Shareholders whose shares are registered in the name of a nominee must reregister the shares in their own names in the company’s register of shareholders kept by VPC to be entitled to attend and vote at a GM.
