In September 2007, the Group introduced a stress policy in the Danish businesses to prevent and reduce employee stress. After a year, the policy will be assessed for Group implementation.
Ensuring work-life balance
Stress is a growing issue in modern society, and the problems caused by stress have become a major concern to both employers and employees. The Danske Bank Group wants to contribute to ensuring a healthy work-life balance among its employees.
Stress policy and toolbox
Consequently, Danske Bank has recently introduced a stress policy that focuses on preventing and reducing stress by taking a proactive approach to stress management. The stress policy contains several elements: a statement of the Group’s attitude towards stress, a practical toolbox providing advice and help to managers and employees, and a stress hotline.
A shared responsibility
It is not possible to avoid stress altogether, but the Group can make an effort to reduce it and develop a culture that promotes openness about stress and its potential consequences. To succeed with this ambition, managers and employees must share the responsibility for ensuring that no one gets into a situation where stress has adverse health effects. Therefore, all staff must react in time to signs of over-exertion and stress and make sure that the necessary steps are taken.
After a year, the stress policy will be assessed with regard to implementation across the Group and to ensure that the individual elements of the policy meet the needs of the organisation.
