Lithuania to adopt the euro

Lithuania to adopt the euro on 1 January 2015

On 1 January 2015, Lithuania will adopt the euro as the country’s currency. This means that accounts in Lithuanian Litas (LTL) will be converted into euro accounts. The irrevocably fixed exchange rate for the conversion to the euro is EUR 1= LTL 3.45280

We will handle the conversion for you and convert your accounts into euro accounts – you do not have to do anything.

Please note that after 1 January 2015, you can no longer create transfers in Lithuanian Litas, and you must use another currency  for your transfers. You will still be able to view your historic transactions in Lithuanian Litas after the conversion date – in addition to your new transactions in euro.

If you have Liquidity Management products with LTL accounts, you will be contacted by us.
