SEPA euro payments from Danske Bank in Germany, Ireland and Finland
From 1 February 2014, you can make SEPA payments via Business Online from accounts in Danske Bank in Germany to any of the 33 SEPA countries using the payment type Account Transfer. The option is already available for Danske Bank in Ireland and Finland.
Access to SEPA payments
From an EU perspective, there is no distinction between national and cross-border SEPA payments. Consequently, the user access Domestic Payments in Business Online will allow the user in question to create and authorise cross-border SEPA payments from accounts in Danske Bank in Germany, Ireland and Finland.
Rules for SEPA payments
The following rules apply to SEPA payments:
• The payment must be in euro
• The beneficiary account number must be an International Bank Account Number (IBAN)
• The beneficiary must be located in one of the countries within the SEPA
• Each party pays the costs payable to its own bank
• The transfer type must be Standard
For customers with accounts in Danske Bank in Hamburg: Changes in the Create Payment screens
On 1 February 2014, the Create Payment screens used for creating payments from Danske Bank in Hamburg will be simplified. Payments created in the Account Transfer screen will always be executed and forwarded to the beneficiary bank as SEPA payments. All other payment types, such as group transfers or payments in other currencies than euro, can be made in the Transfer from Germany screen.
Note that, until 1 August 2014, the Transfer from Germany screen can also be used for German domestic euro payments initiated without an IBAN but with a bank registration number (Bankleitzahl or BLZ) and a 10-digit domestic account number (BBAN).
