Danske Bank issues bonds and other debt instruments on the international financial markets, and they are among the highest-rated in the Nordic region.
State guarantee
Because of the financial crisis, the international capital markets froze for a period in 2008 and access to funding was limited. In its first bank package in October 2008, the Danish state therefore provided a guarantee for issued bonds, among other things. This guarantee runs from 6 October 2008, to 30 September 2010.
In the second Danish bank package, from February 2009, it became possible for banks to extend the guarantee on unsecured loans until 31 December 2013, against payment. We began issuing bonds with this guarantee in June 2009.
