On 30 June 2010, Danske Bank had some 331,300 shareholders. Some 20 shareholders held around 56% of the Bank's share capital.

There are 698.8 million shares issued, and at the annual general meeting each share (nominal value DKK 10) has one vote.

As of 31 December 2009, two shareholder groups reported holding more than 5% of Danske Bank’s shares:

• The A.P. Møller Mærsk Group and the A.P. Møller and Chastine Mc-Kinney Møller Foundation, Copenhagen (22.76%)
• Fonden Realdania (10.07%)

Free float
Free float is defined as the portion of the shares outstanding that is marketable and available for trading – that is, shares not held strategically as ownership shares.

Danske Bank's percentage of free-float shares is estimated to be approx. 68%, since the A.P. Møller Mærsk Group and A.P. Møller and Chastine Mc-Kinney Møller Foundation, Copenhagen, and Fonden Realdania together own more than 32% of the share capital.
