2006
Danske Bank issued 60,500,000 shares on 15 November 2006. Afterwards, the share capital totalled DKK 6,988,042,760 and shares numbered 698,804,276.

2005
At the end of 2005, after the cancellation of 33,961,476 shares repurchased under the 2004 buyback programme, the share capital totalled DKK 6,383,042,760 and shares numbered 638,304,276. The number of shares outstanding at the end of 2005 was 626,704,866, and the average number of shares outstanding in 2005 was 627,573,906.

Repurchase 2004
In 2004, Danske Bank repurchased 33,961,476 shares at an average price of 147.23 and a total market value of DKK 5.0 billion. This reduced the number of shares outstanding from 672,265,752 at the end of 2003 to 638,304,276 at the end of 2004.

Repurchase in 2003
To optimise its capital structure, Danske Bank repurchased shares of a total market value of DKK 5.0 billion in 2003.

The share buyback raised the Group’s earnings per share by 0.3 of a percentage point. In the first half of 2003, the Group bought back 16,303,664 shares at an average price of 122.7 and a total market value of DKK 2.0 billion.

In the second half of 2003, the Group repurchased 23,106,433 shares at an average price of 129.8 and a total market value of DKK 3.0 billion. This reduced the number of shares outstanding from 711,675,849 at the end of 2002 to 672,265,752 at the end of 2003.

Repurchase 2002
In 2002, the Bank repurchased shares worth DKK 3 billion, and the shares were cancelled in July 2003.

The merger in 2000
Upon the merger in 2000, RealDanmark shareholders were offered 4.144 newly issued shares in Danske Bank at a nominal DKK 10 per share for each share of RealDanmark they held with a nominal value of DKK 100.

At the end of 2000, before the deadline for exchanging the shares, 94.5% of RealDanmark shareholders had accepted the exchange. That corresponded to 229,969,747 shares at DKK 10. The last phase of the exchange took place in the spring of 2001, with the issue of 9,366,750 shares at DKK 10.

By December 2000, the Bank had repurchased its own shares worth a total of DKK 5 billion. The shares were cancelled in July 2001. At the end of 2001, the number of shares outstanding stood at 732,000,000 at DKK 10 per share.
