The Bank’s information about its customers
The Bank acquires various information about its customers and their accounts, for example your name, address and civil registration number or company registration number. We need this information for administrative purposes, of course, and we use it in credit assessment and in advising customers. We also use it to decide what financial services we (and the other units of the Danske Bank Group) ought to offer specific customers now or at some point in the future.
The sections below explain when we must and when we may pass on this information.
When the Bank passes on information
According to law, the Bank’s employees have an obligation to confidentiality regarding customer information and may not pass on or use confidential information about you without justification.
In certain cases, the Bank is required to pass on information to the public authorities, for example the tax authorities.
In other cases, we pass on information to the extent permitted by law. For example, if you want to transfer an amount to an account at another bank, we pass on your name and address so that the recipient can see from whom the transfer has come.
Finally, the Bank can pass on information if you have given your consent. You can always revoke your consent or change it. So that you remain informed of what your consent involves, once a year we send you a notification of the information that has been passed on, the purpose of the disclosure and the parties that might receive the information.
Exchange of information within the Danske Bank Group
The Bank may pass on ordinary customer information, such as your name and address, to other companies in the Danske Bank Group without your consent. The other units of course also have an obligation to confidentiality. The information may be used for administration, advisory services and marketing.
So that we can give you the best possible advice regardless of which branch or company in the Danske Bank Group you approach, we request your consent to exchange information for use in making credit assessments and setting interest rates, among other things. This enables us to offer you prices and terms that reflect the extent of the business you entrust to us.
If the Bank’s information is incorrect
If it proves that our information about you is incorrect, we will of course correct it immediately. We will also immediately inform anyone who may have received this information of the error.
