Knowledge is the Danske Bank Group’s most important resource. And knowledge is also an obligation. When it is used to address a social challenge, it is converted into socially responsible behaviour. At the Danske Bank Group, we want to add value to society by using our financial knowledge in a responsible way. It is thus only natural that knowledge is a key area in the Group’s Corporate Responsibility efforts.
Our CR activities
Our goal for 2008 and beyond is to develop and support activities with a particular focus on the professional, intellectual and social skills that enable people to manage their finances.
Our CR objectives and activities are organised in four major focus areas. Below you can see the main objectives for 2008 or follow the links to the sections on the focus areas.
Customers
Ensure greater transparency for customers. Increase accessibility in all sales channels. Implement a new and improved method for surveying customer satisfaction.
Employees
Implement and roll out senior policy. Implement stress management policy and tool box internationally. Revoke the exemption from the non-smoking policy in Russia, the Baltic states and Germany. Increase the number of female managers and executives. Continue the integration programme.
Environment
Implement climate change strategy. Achieve carbon neutrality by December 2009. Extend the environmental management system to cover Finland and the Baltic states by 2009. Raise internal awareness about energy savings.
Society
Introduce initiatives focused on children and socially disadvantaged families that increase financial literacy. Launch an educational Web site for children. Develop and market the Group’s first product with special focus on social responsibility. Involve relevant stakeholders in the development of products and activities.

In 2007 the Group introduced a range of investment products focusing on environmental and energy issues. We sold DKr1,239.5m worth of these products in 2007.
Danske Capital is currently developing a range of new socially responsible investment opportunities to be launched in 2008.
