At the Netbank launch in 1998, the previous PC bank from 1996 was replaced by an Internet-based user interface. Netbank has since been updated to include eBoks, where users can receive mail from more than 550 different senders in Denmark.
In 2003, the Group presented a budget and accounting module in Netbank. In future, customers would be able to create and maintain their budgets in Netbank and also compare them to the actual accounts. The customer may choose to share the budget with the Bank, so that advisory service would in future be based on actual information.
In 2005, the Group in-house developed solution “one pin number” was launched via Netbank. “One pin number” allows the customers to choose a pin number already used for a debit or credit card, so the same number would be valid for all the customer’s cards.
Today, the Group has more than a million active Netbank agreements, which contribute more than four million transactions (payments and transfers) each month, close to DKK 30 billion of the monthly payment flows.
Customers can perform bookkeeping between own accounts 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday. Today, Netbank is available in Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and English.
After the transfer of the Finnish Sampo Bank, scheduled for the Easter holiday in 2008, the Group expects to have 1.8 million active Netbank agreements.
