The development organisation forms part of the Group’s Shared Services Centre (SSC), consisting of two areas – support and development. Support consists of a number of central administrative areas such as Transaction Services, responsible for the day-to-day settlement of Group transactions.
The development organisation has some 2,000 staff members, working at the four development centres in Ejby, Brabrand, Lyngby and Nykøbing F.
Women account for one third of the Danish staff members, and just over 25% have academic degrees.
The development organisation is divided into five development areas, holding responsibility for maintenance and development of the individual systems on the platform.
Consultancy Services is the development organisation’s in-house consultancy house. The department has access to resources in the context of project management, processes, IT development, business development and testing, with the individual resources being allocated to projects for short or long periods.
IT Infrastructure & Service Management is responsible for the Group’s operation-related activities, including cooperation with IBM and development of the Group’s technological platforms.
Programme Management holds the responsibility for technical integration of Sampo Bank, scheduled for Easter 2008.
IT Development Processes & Tools provides the Group development platform by supplying development tools and processes as well as competence development to the rest of the development organisation.
The development organisation in India and Finland
In 2006, the Group signed a contract with ITC Infotech in Bangalore, India, on the establishment of Development Centre India. And in 2007, the Group signed a contract with Primasoft in Helsinki, Finland, on the establishment of Development Centre Finland. The Group employs about 200 developers in India and 60 in Finland. The Finnish staff members have all previous experience with Sampo Bank’s systems.
