The Danske Bank Group signed an agreement with Sampo Group, in November 2006, to acquire Sampo Bank in Finland, including the bank's activities in the three Baltic states.

The Danske Bank Group paid €4.050bn, or DKr30.2bn, in cash for the shares of Sampo Bank. The purchase has been approved by the relevant authorities, and got completed the 1st of February 2007.
