My job involves stock picking for, amongst others, primarily wealthy clients. I advise clients on which equities to select, how to invest, and I am also mandated to invest on their behalf.
There is a wealth of opportunity and I am driven by all the challenges I encounter. I can see that I am progressing and getting better and better at what I do. There are some set targets and it is a challenge to achieve them. It is competitive and somewhat similar to what I experienced in my time as a footballer. You play on a team and if the team does well you also benefit. And if I become better so does the team.

A student job offers a good introductory slant
There are so many opportunities in the Group, and getting a student job is therefore greatly coveted. You are in touch with what happens outside of your studies. Because of this, you gain an insight into the ways in which theory can be applied in the real world. Apart from this you also acquire a wealth of contacts inside the Group and a chance to find the department that you can see yourself working in.
It is been a massive progression from my student job to what I am doing today. I started as an accounts analyst and had no contact with customers but it was a great introductory slant. I want to be in the financial world and to have the chance to work with foreign exchange, bonds and equities.
A professional destination with opportunities
I have always recognised Danske Bank as a professional destination and it has lived up to my expectations. I chose Danske Bank because it one of the companies with the most offers. It is a fantastic place to start because you are challenged professionally and there is absolutely everything here. The opportunities are there if you want them. It also gives you a kind of security, compared with a smaller company where you might not fully know how things will go. People recognise Danske Bank.
International contact
We have a great many contacts with financial institutions abroad, with whom we exchange research, discuss equities and attend conferences and suchlike. This makes our daily work extremely vibrant and interesting; you always have your finger on the pulse.
