ave been a Sampo Bank customer all my life and both my parents have been employed by the Sampo Group. My mother has worked in the bank for about 30 years. So I knew quite well what to expect when I applied for this job and there have not been any negative surprises.

Holistic approach to customers’ financial situation
M
y job is to provide my 280 customers with the best possible service. I am their contact person in all banking-related matters, including loans and investments. We use the Personal Financial Planner to manage a customer’s finances, which helps us to get an overview of all the five essential areas in their economy: housing, savings, investments, retirement and unpredictable cost. In a yearly face-to-face meeting we discuss this plan with customers and find the best products to match their needs. It is a great feeling if I can provide the service they are looking for. What motivates me the most is a happy and satisfied customer.

Flexible and independent job
I e
njoy having flexible working hours. I can plan my own working week and arrange my meetings. Some customers prefer to meet after our opening hours and I am happy to be able to do that. At the same time, it gives me a possibility to leave the office earlier on days that are not so busy.

The direct contact with customers is one of the best things in my job. Once in a while, I fill in for my colleagues at the cashier’s desk. As I work in a relatively small branch, we need to be flexible in helping each other out during holidays and sick leaves. It is a nice change and gives me a good understanding of our work as a branch.

Danske brings new opportunities
I t
hink that the Danske Bank's acquisition of Sampo Bank is a positive thing. Being part of a larger group will provide our customers with new opportunities and that makes my work more interesting. Danske Bank brings stability, better risk management and new products. In addition, a large international group offers better career opportunities, such as postings in other countries.

Leisure: Badminton and downhill skiing

Best staff benefits: It is a good thing that the employer encourages us to do sports. Some mornings the whole office has met to do some spinning, boxing or fitness classes before starting the day in the office. In addition, Sampo Pankki supports our individual training, although there could be more flexibility in choosing the activities.

In five years: I will hopefully still work directly with customers but at a superior level.
