Cycling is my passion – the shared experience and the speed are the two things that fascinate me. A friend introduced me to Nordania Leasing at a 24-hour Le Mans cycling event. At that time, I didn’t know that Nordania was part of the Danske Bank Group. Now that I work for Nordania, I think that being part of a group that continues to grow is challenging, and the way to the top isn’t long if you are prepared for work for it.

No more archiving – heading for a position as financial adviser
Archiving assistant – that was actually my first job. But I was soon offered another – temporary – position, and because I was working proactively for it, I was assigned other responsibilities in addition to the routine work. After that, I worked as an assistant in our back office for four months, and then I started my one-year traineeship. Next I’ll be going to school for three years, and when I graduate, I’ll be a financial adviser. My training will provide me with knowledge about Nordania’s organisation and all elements of the sales process.
Teamwork
Every week, I’m introduced to the functions and work of a new department. In addition to that, I take care of my regular work, which consists of taking calls and contacting customers. It requires considerable knowledge about all our leasing products to prepare offers and advise customers but I’m very lucky to have a colleague who can help with specific questions, for example VAT and tax. My colleagues are, by the way, the best benefit of this job.
Great variety in work and customer requirements
The best thing about my job is the great variety in customer requirements. One moment, I’m on the phone with Torben Jørgensen in Jutland, who would like to lease a truck, and the next it’s Martin Jensen in the northern part of Zealand, who wants to know more about a fancy sports car. I like being involved in the first part of a sales process. It’s cool to have responsibility and be in a position to affect the results instead of just being asked to archive a pile of documents.
Many goals
In my daily work, I work with other units of the Group, for example Danske Leasing and Danske Markets, which means that I don’t see Nordania as a separate business unit in Birkerød but as part of a large group. I appreciate the opportunities the Group offers me – because I have plenty of dreams. One of my dreams is to go abroad to work, another is to become leader of a team. We’ll see what happens. The most important thing is that I am ready when it does – at the head of the peloton.
