No two working days are the sameNo two working days are the same

It is hard to describe a typical working day, as no two working days are the same. As an it developer I help to identify and specify the challenges in all project phases – i.e. both preliminary analysis and specification of requirements. The actual coding does not start until this has been achieved, so actual coding is only a little part of the job. If I had to visualise my job, I would say that I help to design the house, calculate the dimensions of the bearing walls and then build the house. When I programmes, it is in PL1, html, Javascript, and Netstyr. In the near future, I will also use C#, Gemini and VisualStudio, so the toolbox is bulging a little.

Want to take the project management track
I am training to be a front-end specialist, but I am probably more of a generalist as a type and person. As a front-end specialist, I will have responsibility for the development in projects towards the front-end, e.g. prototypes, user friendliness and programming. In the long term, I would like to get on the project manager track, by taking the Group’s internal training course and then getting onto some projects, where I can try out my skills as a project manager.

It is the core of the business
I am constantly aware that it is the core of business. I have recently helped to develop a programme for handling incentive arrangements. It was quite fun to see the result of my own work, when I went into my own custody account and checked my employee shares.

Work environment more important than salary
I find the work environment in the department far more important than e.g. salary. It is super important for me to have a good work environment and we have that in my department. We also have a number of financial employee benefits, but it is not the personnel interest on my salary account or my health insurance that makes me happy to go to work every morning. I hear from my old student friends that paid overtime is not the norm in this branch, but we have it here. However, financial benefits will never be more important to me than good, professional colleagues. We have fun and we are comfortable together, while we support each other with work and professional development. That is extremely important to me.

Leisure: Plays football, sports in general, music, friends, outdoors - summer as well as winter.

Best staff benefits: There are more, but probably the most important is all the training we are offered. This makes me feel that the company wants to invest in me as an employees. I feel that I am in constant development, professionally and personally.

In five years: I primarily want to focus on being a talented frontend developer. In the long term I want to try out the project manager role.
