The best thing about my job is that I work with many super talented people from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some have Bcoms; some have psychology or political science degrees; while others have something completely different. This variety adds a positive dynamic to the daily work. Of course it is also fantastic to work in an international company such as the Danske Bank Group, in which HR is ranked highly strategically.

24,000 colleagues in three time zones
The word commitment sums up my work which, amongst other areas, covers the annual staff survey which assesses satisfaction, commitment and motivation in the Group. This is an extensive and interesting assignment which involves 24,000 colleagues in 15 countries, speaking nine languages and living across three time zones.
Information creates confidence
In connection with some of the Group’s acquisitions, I am responsible for an integration survey which measures how our new colleagues are coping during the integration process. In this way we can assess what ought to be done to create the best possible conditions for staff. This is important, because some staff feel insecure during the integration process, which is why the right information can be very helpful.
My work is energising
There are two particular things about work that give me a boost. When my idea is turned into something real, and I feel that I have made a difference that has produced results. That is great. I also get a tremendous kick from large projects that really take off. It is like a symphony, in which both teamwork and solo details are in place. It’s incredibly energising when it really gets going.
Social events’ anchorman
Apart from the large projects as an internal HR consultant there are also some minor duties. One of these involves being the anchorman for the Group’s social events; each branded division organises one of these events every other year. My task is to help create the professional frameworks within which the project managers in the individual branded divisions work.
HR is high priority in the Group
The Group is very advanced when it comes to HR. This one of the reasons why this is such an attractive workplace; somewhere where I have the opportunity of working with development as opposed to more administrative tasks, which can also be part of the profession. There are masses of challenges here, and exactly the type of challenges that I like to take on. It is simply a question of launching yourself at the different assignments, because there really are opportunities to have projects that you can grow with. Education is a high priority, which means that there are good opportunities for me to develop and take a further education.
Considerable organisational overview
My work requires a considerable organisational overview because the organisation is continually changing. All my projects are group-wide projects. This means that I cannot simply base my thinking on the situation in one individual branded division, but rather I have take into consideration that we are a business with several unique brands.
A company on the move
Before I was recruited, I saw the Danske Bank Group as a conservative hierarchical company. Not that there is anything wrong in virtuous administration, but the Bank is more than this. It is also a dynamic and flexible company which is both constantly developing and characterised by all the different people who work here. This is a group that is always on the move.
