Cooperation and communicationCooperation and communication

Many people might think that working in the Audit Department is just tedious number crunching. Actually, my view is that as an auditor I have a really interesting and multifaceted working day, which involves extensive contact with numerous people around the Group’s different business areas. In my daily work as a senior auditor I find that cooperation and communication are some of my most important working tools.

Channie Buchvardt, 31 years
Qualifications: BCom auditing
Job title: Senior Auditor
Location: Audit Department
Experience: Has worked as an accountant since 1999. Joined Group in 2004.

The Danske Bank Group’s Audit Department is the largest audit department in the Nordic region, and this provides plenty of opportunities for both professional and personal challenges. We have a professional environment, but also an informal way of talking, good social cohesion and many excellent colleagues.

Room for the family
Before joining the Danske Bank Group I worked in a firm of accountants for five years, where I did not have much time for my family. Luckily things are different in my present job. In the Danske Bank Group I can have both a career and room for my family, which means a great deal to me. I have a one-year-old daughter, and after my maternity leave I worked on a part-time basis for a while.

Challenging work assignments
The Danske Bank Group is a workplace with many career opportunities and challenges. Since joining three years ago I have already worked on many different types of projects within business areas such as leasing, insurance, pensions and real estate. One element in my ongoing development has been that I have recently switched work assignments, which means that in future I will be dealing with financial instruments in Danica Pension and Danske Capital.

The Danske Bank Group has more and more activities abroad, so there are good possibilities for working in another country. I have personally been on audits in Norway and Sweden, which was a great experience.

Daily work
On a day-to-day basis I am a senior auditor handling different auditing assignments. My work consists of planning and coordinating the audit work together with the business area, the attached auditing team and the Bank’s external auditors.

I think it is great that in my work I acquire an in-depth knowledge about the Group’s different business areas and processes, and help prepare reports for the Group’s management and board of directors.

Leisure: With family and friends in my spare time. Also go to the theatre and cinema.

Best staff benefits: I think we have many staff benefits, so it is difficult to highlight any one benefit that is better than the others.

In five years: In five years I will still be working in the Group Audit Department because I am constantly being challenged with new work assignments.
