Having lived for several years in Germany I wanted to come home to Scandinavia. Jobs in Danske Bank are interesting and fit well with my education and the distance to Malmö, where I now live, is short – so that was perfect. My job is extremely varied and I can plan my own time. The most important thing is achieving results.

Interesting to encounter other fields of expertise
I am an economist and work as an analyst within fields such as agriculture and the food industry. I look at market conditions and credit quality; my job gives me the chance to try many things. At the moment I am on temporary secondment in Realkredit Danmark’s agricultural finance centre in Lyngby near Copenhagen. It is interesting to see how my colleagues work and to encounter other fields of expertise within the agricultural area. I also visit customers. It’s good to see farming in action, particularly as I normally sit in front of a computer all day.
Trying out many things on a daily basis
It is interesting to be involved in the different branches – what actually happens in a branch – and to discover the financial connection. My research is used throughout the Group and in my department, Credit Analysis, we also like to help in finding information for advisers in relation to customer meetings. Every day is extremely varied and I am always trying out new things.
Interesting ad hoc assignments
Apart from the opportunities available through working in such a large group there are also interesting, more ad hoc, individual assignments. For example, I was recently involved in organising a seminar on retailing in Sweden. It was so rewarding to spend the whole day discussing the subject with advisers and being able to provide them with the right information.
Personally I think it is great to meet so many people
During the two years that I have worked in the Bank, I have taken on more and more responsibility. I am in contact with many different business areas, including some in Sweden. In this way I meet a large number of people, something I find extremely rewarding.
