DealerDealer

Dealers in the Danske Bank Group are concentrated in Danske Markets, which is responsible for the Group’s global trading in foreign exchange, short-term interest rates, bonds and derivatives. The Department employs several hundred dealers working within both market making and client trading. Senior dealers have foreign exchange or product responsibilities, but common to all dealers is their considerable knowledge and experience of:

  • the structure and work practices in financial markets
  • the influence of stock markets on foreign exchange and capital markets
  • economics and politics and how these impact on foreign exchange and exchange rates
  • financing concepts, interest rate calculations, interest rate structures, liquidity management, and hedging strategies, as well as knowledge of value-at-risk models (experts in foreign exchange, bonds and fixed-income products)

Dealers operate in a hectic international environment
Dealers work in English and their primary mission is to offer and sell the Danske Bank Group’s financial solutions and products to businesses and institutional investors, making innovative use of their knowledge of the products. As a result, they have to be very driven and exceptionally good at taking the initiative.

Dealers typically have an advanced education in economics or social sciences and strive to update their professional expertise on a regular basis. There are generally good opportunities to diversify into other areas of responsibility or switch to related operating areas in Danske Markets or in other parts of the Group such as Danske Capital.
