On September 11, Danske Bank welcomed 130 young professionals to an evening of networking and debate about the financial crisis.
Global Head of Financial Markets at Danske Markets, Jens Peter Neergaard, gave a presentation of the causes of the financial crisis, while Gerald Ashley, Managing Director of St. Mawgan & Co, gave his view on the future implications of the crisis.
After the presentations, the two keynote speakers participated in a panel debate together with the head of trading at Danmarks Nationalbank, Jesper Berg, Danske Market's chief economist, Steen Bocian, and head of Danske Market's Performance Management, Peter Rostrup-Nielsen.
One of the main points of the evening was that the financial markets are now suffering the hangovers from an unprecedentedly long period of economic growth. Another point supported by all panel members was that to turn trends around, the most important thing is to restore confidence in the financial markets.
