FTSE4Good
FTSE4Good

In 2009, the Group was added to FTSE4Good, one of the world's leading sustainability indexes.

The index contains companies with a strong corporate responsibility performance. It is managed by the Financial Times and the London Stock Exchange.

FTSE4Good first screens out certain industries, for example tobacco, arms and nuclear power. It then selects companies on the basis of social and environmental criteria in five areas:

      • Working towards environmental sustainability
      • Supporting human rights
      • Countering corruption and bribery
      • Ensuring supply chain labour standards
      • Developing positive relations with stakeholders

In 2008, Danske Bank Group was added to the ECPI Ethical Index Global and the ECPI Ethical Index Euro.

ECPI employs a two-step SRI screening method.

The first stage is a positive screening based on about 100 tests of ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria in the following categories: environmental strategy, environmental managment, products, production process, employees and human capital, market, corporate governance and shareholders, and compliance with UN standards.

The second stage consists of the exclusion of companies that are active in controversial industries such as tobacco, the military, alcohol and gaming. The final result of the analysis is a synthetic rating.
