New payment solution in Denmark

Danske Bank is the first bank in Denmark to launch a new mobile payment solution.

Danske Bank’s new payment solution, MobilePay, lets you transfer money with a smartphone.

MobilePay can be downloaded to both iPhones and Android phones free of charge. At first, it will be available only in Denmark, but we are looking into the possibility of launching it in the Group’s other markets.

Some countries have a sector solution in the pipeline, so the solution may not be relevant everywhere.

A smart alternative to cash
MobilePay is an alternative to cash that is suitable for payments of small amounts.
“Most people are familiar with situations in which you want to pay a friend, split a bill for a meal or buy something from someone,” says Jesper Nielsen, head of Business Development at Danske Bank Personal Banking. “But often we don’t have cash with us, so we need to withdraw money first or transfer it through eBanking or Mobile Banking. We are making that easier now.”

Everyone in Denmark can use it
MobilePay is available for everyone in Denmark 15 years old and above – whether or not they have an account with us. All you need to get started is a smartphone, a Danish mobile number, a Danish payment card and a Danish bank account.
